ED HRIVNAK – PILOT
WHY HRT? I went on my first helicopter training with HRT in 1992 as a member of Mountain Rescue. We learned how to rappel out of an old B-model Huey painted orange. I was hooked on helicopters. Over the years I moved though the different crew positions. I was a Crew Chief for two years, and completed my helicopter rating as a Pilot in 1998. Volunteering with HRT has been by far, my most enjoyable pursuit. Each flight is different and challenging, and the aircrews are above professional. The people I fly with are why I have volunteered over 20 years.
WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF HRT? I’m a retired Air Force Officer, having served as a Flight Nurse in Iraq. I enjoy part-time work as a writer and have a second career as a firefighter.
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR FREE TIME? Free time with family it the best. Other pursuits include downhill skiing, wake surfing, and flying antique airplanes.
